Promenading with Bill Frisell

Seattle-based artist Ari Joshua has already collaborated with Billy Martin and John Medeski in the past. The album Meeting of the Minds which was among the most listened-to releases in the MangoWave headquartes in 2023, is just one out of four great releases that features these three genius musicians. With the new single Country Stroll, Joshua, Martin and Medeski have published a track in trio formation for the first time. And although the 200-second tune features less musicians than previous releases, it does not lack a bit of volume or eloquence.

Country Stroll is an honouring nod to William Richard Frisell. And the song written and composed by Ari Joshua is indeed a graceful tribute to Frisells work as it is built on a solid foundation made from Jazz and Blues, yet goes far beyond the genres‘ realms.

With artistic sensitivity and joyful eloquence, the trio creates a colourful sonic world for their audience to dive in to. Nimble-footed, the listeners can thus stroll through a colourful scenery. Country Stroll is like a giant oil painting, gorgeous in its entirety, and full of beautiful details that want to be discovered. You can listen to this passionate piece many times and still explore something new. This truly is a masterpiece of cinematic music.
