Here is one to look forward to.
This lineup is something special. Asher Fulero and I share a deep love for similar sounds, and it's always a pleasure playing in his bands. Every time I’ve joined him in Portland, it’s been well worth the trip.
Also in the mix is the incredible Jessica Lurie — an amazing human and a crowd favorite for a 1000 reasons. First time I heard Brett McBass, I walked straight up to him after the show and said, “Man, I’d love to play with you sometime!” His listening skills and adaptability blew me away—he’s got that shape-shifting magic while still holding it all down. Of course, Grant Schroff needs no introduction. The Polyrhythmics heartbeat himself, and a key part of some of my best releases out there "Rare Groove, The Clinic, Soulmine, Fresh, and more…. His groove is so solid, I swear I listen back to the recordings and I see a drummer in my mind and he’s got a diamond head flipping me peace signs with one hand and laying it down with the other. This one’s extra special because it’s the first time in forever that I’ll be playing with Andy Coe. Fun fact—Andy and I picked up guitar around the same time in 7th grade and played together every week until we graduated high school. He had several bands together over the years and I have been patiently waiting for some ops to play some shows together! I feel like I am in 7th grade again picking up guitars at Trading Musician during our lunch break again. It's gonna be a fun one, Asher has a fun list of material to pull from, and we may even do a few of my songs as well.
